What Nearby Septic is

Nearby Septic is an independent, license-verified directory of septic service providers — Texas first, national by design. We match every provider we list against official state license registries (in Texas, TCEQ’s public records), show you the license type, number, and status, and label anything we couldn’t verify. We are not a septic company, we don’t do the work, and we never charge homeowners.

Why we built it

Because the existing septic directories publish data they haven’t checked. When we surveyed this market we found live listings with placeholder phone numbers, out-of-state businesses filed under Texas counties, a security-alarm company listed as a septic pumper, and ‘verified’ badges on all of it. Homeowners calling about a sewage backup deserve better than scraped search results wearing a trust badge.

The rules we run on

Three rules, applied everywhere on this site:

• Show verification, don’t claim it. License data appears on the listing — type, number, status, registry link, and when we last checked. Unverified listings are labeled unverified.
• Honest coverage. A county page only enters search indexes when it has at least three verified providers and completed local research. Where we have nothing, we say ‘nothing yet’ — we never pad.
• Sourced numbers or no numbers. Every cost figure carries a named, dated source. Where no trustworthy figure exists, we print that instead of a guess.

How the site makes money

Organic listing order is never sold. Providers appear verified-first, then alphabetically. Our plan is the one we’d want as homeowners: free quote routing that providers may later pay to receive more of, and clearly labeled placements if we ever run them. Some product-guide pages may carry affiliate links, always disclosed on the page and never on county pages, permit guides, provider profiles, or trust pages.
