Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on Nearby Septic are affiliate links: if you click one and buy something, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This page explains exactly how that works, where those links appear, and why they never decide what we recommend.

This page may be updated from time to time; material changes get a new “last updated” date at the top.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

The programs we participate in

Nearby Septic participates in the Amazon Associates Program. We also join direct partner programs run by manufacturers whose equipment we cover — such as SpringWell Water Filtration Systems — as those partnerships are approved, and we update this page whenever a program is added or dropped.

Affiliate links appear in our gear reviews and buying guides (everything under /supplies/), and occasionally in an article or cost guide where a specific product is genuinely relevant.

You will never find affiliate links in our county permit guides, our provider directory listings, our safety warnings, or our verification and methodology pages. Those pages exist to give you straight answers about regulators, licenses, and local providers, and we keep money out of them entirely.

How we choose what to recommend

Our picks are built from manufacturer specifications, published water and wastewater research, and the documented consensus of installers and service professionals — and every source is listed at the bottom of each guide. When we have personally installed or tested a product, we say so. When we haven’t, we say that too, plainly. We would rather tell you “this comparison is built from research, not our own test bench” than borrow credibility we haven’t earned.

Commission rates never change a ranking. If the best product in a category pays us nothing, it is still our pick, and we’ll tell you why. If a product we earn more on is not the best choice for Texas conditions — our soils, our water, our rules — it doesn’t get the top spot.

What it costs you

Nothing. Affiliate commissions are paid by the retailer or manufacturer out of their marketing budget. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go to the store directly.

About prices

We don’t quote Amazon prices in our articles, because prices there change constantly. Where you see live pricing on this site, it comes directly from the retailer’s own systems with a timestamp. For everything else, we cite price ranges from named retailers with the date we checked.

Why we do this

Affiliate revenue helps pay for what makes this site useful: license verification against TCEQ records, county-by-county permit research, and honest cost data. It’s part of how we keep the directory free for homeowners.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you believe a recommendation on this site doesn’t square with the evidence we cite, email us at admin@nearbyseptic.net. We read those, and we correct what needs correcting. See also how we verify providers.
