Monroe County's subdivision regulations put the health department into the chain of title. All newly surveyed tracts of less than one acre outside a municipality must be approved by the Monroe County Health Department before the county auditor will accept them for transfer, or must be stamped 'Not Acceptable for Sewage System'. Where no zoning is in effect, the regulations' own lot standards apply in its place.
