Zoning & land use

Nothing in Lucas County changes this. Ohio’s sewage-treatment-system rules are statewide in OAC 3701-29 and administered by the local health district; lot-size minimums and setbacks beyond those rules come from county or township zoning.

Environmental protections

Maumee River (Outstanding State Water (recreational), Indiana state line (RM 108.1) to the U.S. route 25 bridge (RM 15.05)). Ohio EPA's general permit for discharging household systems (OHK000004, Part II.C.2(e)) bars a new discharge to any of these, or to a tributary within one mile upstream. On those parcels the off-lot discharging route is closed and the system has to be a soil-absorption design, whatever the lot looks like.
