Zoning & land use

The Ottawa County Board of Health has adopted a resolution on vertical separation: a system must sit at least six inches above the seasonal water table where there is at least six inches of in-situ soil, dropping to one inch where the table is between zero and six inches and a pre-treatment unit is used. The county also has a hard connection trigger — a foundation 200 feet or less from an accessible sewer right-of-way must connect.
