The Putnam County Health Department's supplement sets vertical separation at six inches with six inches of in-situ soil — the lowest Ohio lets a board of health adopt — and recognises the state's reduced-separation provision, so a system may be permitted below six inches where the effluent is pre-treated. Land application of septage is prohibited within the district, and abandoning a system needs a permit, valid one year from issue.
