Delaware County's own subdivision ordinance sets a floor the state does not. Under Section 195-812.C a lot carrying both on-lot sewage disposal and an on-lot water supply may be no smaller than one acre, and the system must sit at least 100 feet from any well or other water supply. Chapter 195 governs in any Delaware County municipality with no subdivision ordinance of its own. The county health department publishes the site-preparation and percolation-test protocol it expects before an application.

Delaware County has no Exceptional Value waters, but 3 entries on DEP's Chapter 93 drainage lists are High Quality — including Crum Creek, Ridley Creek, Rocky Run. A lot draining to one loses the § 71.51(b) planning exemption, so the sewage module goes to the municipality and then to DEP. That is a second reviewer, not a different septic system. Check your own stream before assuming the ordinary path.

The dominant constraint here is slow-percolating subsoil below 12 inches (100.0% of rated soils), followed by a seasonal high water table (24.9%). NRCS rates 100.0% of rated ground very limited for a conventional in-ground trench, 88.8% for a sand mound and 24.4% for drip irrigation -- where conventional is out, drip is often the system that works.
