Otter Tail County's Sanitation Code (effective January 1, 2024) adds sale-time rules of its own: a compliance inspection plus a county Property Transfer Form filed with the Auditor — future permits for the site are denied until filed — and winter transfers (November 15 to April 15) inspect by the following June 1. Systems under five years old, or inspected within three, are exempt. On lakes and rivers, setbacks follow the county's Shoreland Management Ordinance.
