Ashland County's subdivision regulations set the lot floor, not the health district. Section 514 requires 43,560 square feet and 150 feet of width for a lot served by neither sanitary sewer nor public water, and adds that additional square footage may be required by the Ashland County Board of Health, by township zoning requirements, or by conditions unique to the lot. All lots must conform to or exceed both those regulations and any applicable zoning requirement.

The dominant constraint here is water perching on a restrictive layer (39.4% of rated soils), followed by a fragipan -- a dense pan that stops water moving down (37.6%).
