Logan County Regulation No. 26 sets vertical separation at six inches where a seasonal water table is present, and at one inch where the effluent is pre-treated to less than 1,000 fecal coliform colony forming units per 100 millilitres. Operation permits run ten years for a non-pretreatment on-lot gravity system, five for an off-lot discharging or NPDES system, and one year for anything with mechanical components. Unpaid permit fees are assessed to the property tax.
