Zoning & land use

All 30 Perry County municipalities run their own Act 537 sewage programme on DEP's tabulation, so the permit comes from the township or borough. The county subdivision ordinance is enforced in only seven of them — Blain, Landisburg and New Buffalo boroughs and Jackson, Northeast Madison, Southwest Madison and Toboyne townships. It sets no lot-size number (Section 505.1.F defers to municipal zoning) but Section 505.2 requires every new lot to be self-sufficient for both water supply and sewage disposal.

Environmental protections

Laurel Run is carried on DEP's Chapter 93 drainage lists as Exceptional Value, and 5 further Perry entries are High Quality. A lot draining to one of them loses the § 71.51(b) planning exemption: the sewage module goes to the municipality and then to DEP, which is a second reviewer and a longer clock rather than a different septic system. Check your own stream on the drainage list before assuming the ordinary path.
