Hood County permits septic in the whole county (except the city of Granbury) under its own Hood County On-Site Sewage Facility Order — adopted by the commissioners court and approved by TCEQ, and controlling wherever it is stricter than 30 TAC Chapter 285 (Health and Safety Code § 366.032(b)). Texas grants county zoning power only in named places, and Hood County is one: Local Government Code Chapter 231, Subchapter K, covers development regulation county-wide.
